Waseela for Technology Consultations, a leading systems integrator specialized in broadband wireless technologies and managed services for telecom operators, service providers and large enterprises in the region, announced today that it has successfully demonstrated a state-of-the-art tools setup capable of performing multi-operators multi-technology.
Smartphone-based auditing and benchmarking measurements and analysis for two major cities in the Middle East region. The state-of-the-art tools setup was based on multiple latest tools releases from the internationally leading supplier of 3G and 4G measurement tools, Accuver.
RAN optimization, auditing and benchmarking is one of the key services that Waseela offers to telecom operators in the MENA region. Over the last few years Waseela successfully optimized, audited and benchmarked thousands of 2G, 3G and 4G sites in the region and continues today to offer RAN optimization managed services to thousands of sites. Waseela is exhibiting at GITEX 2012 and is demonstrating, jointly with its technology partner Accuver, the latest Smartphone-based optimization and benchmarking tools from Accuver that were used to achieve this technical milestone by Waseela.
Dr. Rami Abu Alhaija, Head of Optimization Department at Waseela, stated that “the significance of this development is that it marks the first time in the region for using Smartphone platforms like Android and Apple IOS in the optimization and benchmarking process as traditional tools were not designed to deal with Smartphone platforms. Telecom operators are becoming more interested in auditing and benchmarking their RF KPIs based on Smartphones and Feature-Phones as these phones are quickly becoming the dominant in their networks. KPIs audit and benchmarking results based on traditional phones are no longer an accurate indicator of customers satisfaction.” Additionally the multi-technology multi-operator benchmarking tools setup that Waseela demonstrated is capable of measuring video KPIs in parallel to voice and data KPIs; these video KPIs are also becoming of more significance to telecom operators in the region, Dr. Rami added.
